We are excited to announce that our Simply Sweet sew along has officially started with our mini magnolia blooms! On Saturday, I demonstrated how to create one complete block of this adorable bloom. If you haven’t had a chance yet, click on the link below to check it out: Watch the video here.
We will be making a total of 12 mini magnolias, which will make up the first and last rows of our Simply Sweet quilt. These are my favorite blocks from the quilt, and I had so much fun creating them! I hope you enjoy working on your blocks this week, and I would love to see your progress! Please visit Quilts Bloom at Dawn on Facebook and share your blocks with us!
Next Saturday, May 10th, we will be working on row 4 of the quilt along, where we'll be making the charming little houses. I will demonstrate this delightful block, which is fun, fast, and easy to sew! It only requires two folded corners, and aside from that, it involves simply piecing squares and rectangles together to create a cute row of six houses. I especially enjoyed selecting fabrics for the doors and windows and used this opportunity to pull from my fabric scraps.

Just a reminder: we are working on the blocks in the order listed in the pattern to ensure there is enough fabric to complete the blocks, starting with the largest cuts first. If you haven’t purchased your pattern yet, it is available from Chelsi Stratton’s Etsy Shop. Here’s the link: Get your pattern here.
I received some feedback about the cameo appearance of one of our dogs, Henry, during the YouTube video on Saturday. I didn’t even realize he made it into the frame! That’s our 2-year-old, Happy Henry. We have three rescue dogs—Toby, Baby, and Henry—who all love to check in on what I’m working on while I quilt. You will likely see or hear them from time to time!

Thank you for joining us on our quilting journey! Quilting is fun, but it is even better with friends.
Happy Quilting!
