Quilts Are Blooming!

Thank you for joining this quilting journey with me!  I look forward to the many projects and tips we will uncover together.   

On Saturday, we introduced our next quilt along project on our YouTube channel which is also available on our website under the tutorials section.  This quilt along features the Simply Sweet row along quilt pattern from Chelsi Stratton Designs available in her Etsy shop in download or print version. All the fabric requirements needed are included in the pattern and discussed during the quilt along introduction video. 

Every week we will demonstrate a block from each row of the quilt which includes 2 rows of mini-magnolia blooms, tulip buds, 2 rows of stars, and a row of sweet homes.  It is fat-eighth friendly, making this a perfect opportunity to use up leftover spring fabrics or pull out that favorite collection you’ve been saving for that perfect project!  I’ve selected some leftover fabrics from Camille Roskelley’s Rosemary Cottage collection, along with a few samplings from my scraps. 

You will need 30 fat eighth prints plus 3 green prints for grass, stems, and leaves along with a print for the border and binding, a background fabric, and backing. 

Next Saturday, I’ll be demonstrating the adorable mini magnolia bloom in our YouTube video.  There are 6 blocks per row and the mini magnolia blooms make up both the first and last rows.  Once you complete these, you will already have two rows finished! 

During the demonstration, I will showcase one of my favorite tools that I recently discovered: the Mini Simple Folded Corners Ruler by Doug Leko from Antler Quilt Design.
